Before you Enquire

Your wedding, it's a big day. You get to do this once (or twice, or three times, we're not here to judge!), and therefore it's beyond important that we connect, click, vibe... whatever else the younger generation now say.

PERSONALITY | I would fully recommend reading the 'Meet Becky' page initially, before scrolling through Instagram (@beckygoligy_photographer) or Facebook and checking my captions. Check my stories... I'm even open to a video call! If you book me for the full day, I'll be hanging round for a good 8-10 hours and if you decide I'm not your cup of tea, it'll be a long day and your photos will automatically be tainted... 'I love that photo of us, but it's a shame we weren't the biggest fan of her!', it's absolutely fine if you decide I'm not for you, but I'd rather you decided at this stage rather than after you've paid a booking fee, or even the morning of your wedding! I'm very open minded and positive, but I'm also a realist... I know when something just ain't feeling right and I know you'll feel it too!

SHOOTING STYLE | The more I've grown into this industry, the more confidence I've got with running my business the way I like. I am a 'sink into the background' type of person who is obsessed with the candid moments. I love taking photos of laughter, and I'll quite often pop a zoom lens on and run off to the corner to avoid being up in people's faces. I find I get more moments this way. I love taking photos of the elderly, and the babies, and everything special in between. On the morning of the wedding, I'll grab all those special detail shots, and then we'll proceed straight into prep. I don't setup too many moments with exception to the portraits and family shots. I won't interrupt the make up artist or hair stylist, and I work really well with other suppliers. I'll move things out the background if needed, but I won't disrupt the day. I will loosely organise a confetti shot if you have any, and I will direct portraits with ease (we work with motion and conversation), but I'll never stop the day or ask for anything different. I might ask you to turn towards the window from time to time but that's as far as it goes. I don't ever photograph the eating section as A) this is when I take a break, and B) who wants a photo of them shovelling roasties into their mouth?

In a few words; my shooting style is chilled, and journalistic!

EDITING STYLE | Every photographer has one! What can I say about mine? It's not light, it's not dark, and we definitely have some sun flares in there. I don't like yellows, and I strip my greens right back to the point where you can tell it's green, but it's not GREEN. Is that making sense? Everything gets a little desaturated. I'm not about colour, I'm muted, and I like everything a little more 'Earthy'. If you're having a very colourfully charged wedding, I'll make sure each photo is edited to ensure the flowers and bridesmaid dresses / tie colours etc are what you've chosen. They are a representation of your day and I know how important that is, however the sky... the grass, they all get a little toned down. See the following for some befores and afters:

FAQ | Let's get a few questions answered...

How many photos do we get? As many as I can edit. I never promise a certain amount of photos. You'll very clearly get a decent few hundred dependent on whether it's an elopement, or full day. However, this is all based on what I have to shoot. If you have a ceremony, no entertainment, don't want any family shots and refuse to do a first dance, you're going to get less images than a couple who have all that. It's based on whatever is happening. If it works, you can have the photo. The last few 'full' wedding days have averaged around 650 photos.

How long does it take for our photos to be edited? Within around 12 hours of me leaving the wedding, you'll have a mini preview. Something to post on Social Media, and share with friends and family. This is usually sent via WhatsApp or Messenger either the night of the wedding or early next morning dependent on when I've arrived home etc.

Within 4 to 5 days, you'll have another preview. This can be between 20 - 50 photos dependent on whether you had a full day or an elopement.

Within two months, you'll receive the rest of the photos via an internet link. Full day people will then receive their USB. I know it's tempting to chase me up, but if the two month time hasn't elapsed, know that I'm on track and they'll be with you when they're edited. I'd rather take my time knowing that your images are the best they can be!

Should we feed you? Personally, for a full day, I always appreciate a meal or a bar tab. Just a main, or enough to cover a sandwich if your location sells bar food. When sending a full day final questionnaire I always ask if food is available, as to be fair it's never a dealbreaker for me. I appreciate it massively if I am fed, but I'm also okay and more than understanding regarding bringing my own food. As long as we communicate, it's all good!

Do you do video? No. Tried playing around with it, couldn't get my head around it. Still images only from this girly.
